A vehicle stop in Coventry led to the seizure of suspected Class A drugs and a knife.

The operation was carried out by Project Guardian officers on Newfield Road shortly after midday on 4th February.

During the searches, approximately 80 wraps of suspected Class A drugs and a knife were recovered.

A 47-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to supply and carrying a knife.

He has since been released on bail while investigations continue.

Project Guardian teams are part of an initiative aimed at minimizing knife crime and serious youth violence in the West Midlands.

These teams undertake various approaches, including plain-clothed operations and visible patrols.
