Drivers urged to come forward after body found in Atherstone

Police are seeking to identify two key witnesses as investigations continue into the discovery of a man's body in Atherstone earlier this month.

The body was found in Monk’s Park Lane shortly after 1.30am on 3rd April.

Investigators believe the driver of a vehicle collided with the man before leaving the scene.

Police are appealing to the drivers of a white van and a red car, believed to have been on the road at the time, to contact them as they may witnessed what happened.

Anyone who used the road between 1.05am and 1.40am, or who saw a man walking along the road near Ridge Lane, to are also being asked to come forward.

Two men, a 23-year-old from Nuneaton and a 74-year-old from Shifnal, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drink driving, and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

They have been bailed as investigations continue.
