Double decker bus involved in collision with bridge in Coventry

No one was injured and an investigation is ongoing into the incident on Woodshires Road

A double decker bus has been in involved in a collision with a low bridge in Coventry.

The Coventry National Express bus its roof torn off after the incident on Woodshires Road involving a railway bridge at around 9:34am this morning (13th May)

The road was closed while the debri was cleared.

The British Transport Police have confirmed no one was injured.

The bus was returning to the depot at the time of the incident and no passengers were on board.

Network Rail attended the scene and said the railway returned to normal at 11:05am.

It added that it is working with West Midlands Police and the Fire Service.

A spokesperson from National Express Coventry said the bus was not in service at the time of the incident and added: "We are supporting the Emergency Services in their immediate response and will work closely with them to understand the exact circumstances that led to this incident.”
