A male cyclist has died following a collision with a car in Stratford-upon-Avon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service responded to reports of a road traffic collision at Alscot Park, near the A3400 in Atherstone on Stour, yesterday at 2.10pm.

Emergency services, including an ambulance, paramedic officer, a local community first responder, and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance rushed to the scene.

An off-duty paramedic stopped to provide aid until additional crews arrived.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said:

"Crews arrived to find the off-duty paramedic giving CPR to the cyclist, a man.

The team of medics quickly began to administer advanced life support at the scene.

Sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased a short time later."
