A Coventry Man has been presented with a Good Citizen Award by the Lord Mayor of Coventry, Councillor Rachel Lancaster, in recognition of his work supporting young people and the wider community.

Harry Byrne, 24, mentors and coaches young people through outdoor education and nature-based activities, helping to build confidence and resilience.

He previously faced significant personal challenges, including the loss of his mother at age 11, periods of homelessness, and struggles with addiction.

His efforts have been recognised nationally with the King’s Trust Young Achiever Award and the Pride of Britain King’s Trust Young Achiever title in 2025.

Harry says it's taken hard work and determination to get to this point as he reflects on his life growing up: "If you do things in small steps you can go a long way.

"I have met many amazing people on my journey who have inspired and motivated me to do good things for myself and others around me.

"If you are struggling people are there to support you, without the support from the Kings Trust I don't think I would be where I am today."
