Coventry man charged with assaulting emergency workers

The charges come after a suspected stolen car was recovered in the city

A Coventry man has been charged with multiple offences after a suspected stolen car was recovered in the city.

Terrence Hannefin, 36, is accused of the theft of a motor vehicle as well as theft from a shop and two assaults on emergency workers.

The charges follow the recovery of a car from Alex Grierson Close on 5th January 2026.

Hannefin was also charged with driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

He was remanded in custody and is expected to appear before magistrates in Coventry today (January 6).
