A tech company in Coventry is using drones to transform emergency medical deliveries across the UK.

Skyfarer Ltd are helping to relieve increasing pressures on the healthcare system by transporting medical supplies - such as blood and organs - with drones.

The transformative use of drones has proven to be effective with emergency aid being delivered quickly to remote locations.

The medical aid drones are also helping to deliver organs, blood and radiopharmaceuticals before they expire.

Georgia Parnham, a Director at Skyfarer, shares their mission to ease pressures on the NHS.

Georgia said: "We can do the back and forth of delivering the medical aid whilst doctors focus on actually supporting patients.

"We're trying to ease pressures on our infrastructure in the UK whilst helping to save time and money for the NHS."

Georgia continued: "Within Skyfarer there is also a focus on sustainability.

"We did a a study a few years ago on a transport van that delivered supplies between two hospitals we work with.

"It was a twelve person seater transport van and they just delivered a couple of vials of blood.

"We could have done that delivery and the reduction in CO2 emissions was about 99.98%.

"So in terms of saving carbon emissions, saving time, saving money, all the benefits are with drones."
