Coventry City have announced the signing of South Korea international Yang Min-Hyeok on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 19-year-old winger joins the Championship side after spending the first half of the current season at Portsmouth, where he scored three goals in 16 matches, including a late winner against Charlton Athletic in December.

Min-Hyeok began his career in South Korea with Gangwon, where he delivered a standout 2024 season. He scored 12 goals and helped the team finish second in the K League. That year, he collected the division's Young Player of the Year award and became the youngest winner of its Player of the Month accolade.

He signed with Tottenham in July 2024 but returned to finish the campaign at Gangwon before moving to English football. Last season, he had a loan spell with Queens Park Rangers in the Championship.

After signing for Coventry, Min-Hyeok said, “I’m very happy and excited to join a club with such strong traditions and history.

“When I played against Coventry, I really felt the positive atmosphere within the team, and that made me even more excited about becoming part of this club.

“The Head Coach explained very clearly how he plans to use me and how I could fit into the team, which gave me a lot of confidence that this is the right place for me.

“I want to help the team achieve its goal and to do that, I need to adapt as quickly as possible, show my qualities on the pitch, and prove why I am here.”
