After residents raised concerns, the Council is taking action against fly-tipping and pavement parking in Radford.

A number of measures are being taken in Jubilee Crescent and Owenford Road, including the creation of new parking bays, an extensive declutter of fly-tipping hotspots, and the removal and relocation of garbage bins.

Plans also include upgrading pedestrian crossings and streetlights, resurfacing of some areas of footpaths and carriageways, adding new bollards, and creating green spaces and sustainable rain gardens.

Cllr Patricia Hetherton, Cabinet Member for City Services, said: “We’ve been listening to residents and businesses, and we are committed to keeping the streets clean, free of clutter and accessible.

“The plan for in Jubilee Crescent and Owenford Road will provide much needed new parking, some really clever drainage which will also inject some greenery and a safer environment for pedestrians and drivers.

"It’s just one of many city-wide initiatives to act on this type of anti-social behaviour and with work starting on Monday I hope people will see and feel the impact really quickly.”

All planned works are expected to be completed in the spring.
