The Football Association have confirmed that Coventry City and Southampton have been charged following an incident after their 1-1 draw at St Mary's on Saturday.
There was a melee between players and staff from both sides after the final whistle.
Coventry City boss Frank Lampard appeared to exchange words with Southampton players before others got involved.
The FA said in a statement released on their FA Spokesperson account on X (formally Twitter):
"Southampton FC and Coventry City FC have been charged following their EFL Championship fixture on Saturday 20 December.
"It's alleged that both clubs failed to ensure their players and/or technical area staff did not behave in an improper and/or provocative way after the final whistle
"Southampton FC and Coventry City FC have until Tuesday 30 December to provide their respective responses."
