Airspace restrictions in Coventry for Godiva in the City
Drone use stopped within Ring Road this weekend
Coventry will see airspace restrictions this weekend due to the Godiva in the City event, with the use of drones prohibited within the Ring Road area.
The restrictions will be in effect on Saturday, 4th July, and Sunday, 5th July.
During the festival, there will be increased police presence, including specialist Project Servator teams, stationed across the city.
These teams, consisting of both uniformed and plainclothes officers, are trained to disrupt criminal activity by spotting signs of hostile reconnaissance.
Superintendent Tim Robinson from Coventry Local Policing Area said: "We're delighted to be welcoming back Godiva in the City to Coventry.
"This is always an enjoyable occasion and we hope everyone has a good time and stays safe.
"You'll see officers out and about during the festival, so if you see anything which doesn't seem right, let us know."
Festival-goers are encouraged to be safe, remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour.
