Car safety operation leads to vehicle seizures in Coventry
Multi-agency check at Alvis Retail Park tackles uninsured and unsafe vehicles
A joint road safety operation in Coventry resulted in the seizure of several vehicles that were found to be uninsured and unsafe to drive.
The Multi-Agency Road Safety Operation (MARSO) took place at Alvis Retail Park on Holyhead Road on 1st May.
Neighbourhood officers collaborated with traffic resources, the local authority's taxi licensing office, and the DVSA to carry out checks.
During the course of the operation, a range of vehicles including vans, taxis, and private cars were inspected for roadworthiness, licences, and insurance.
Two cars were confiscated due to lack of insurance, and another vehicle was ordered to be recovered after being deemed unroadworthy.
Additionally, drivers of vans and light goods vehicles were advised on correct loading practices and tyre condition requirements.
Such operations are crucial in maintaining road safety across Coventry, ensuring that unsafe, untaxed, or uninsured vehicles are removed from circulation.
