Caleb Yirenkyi joins Coventry City from FC Nordsjaelland
The midfielder is on a long-term deal
Coventry City has signed Caleb Yirenkyi on a long-term contract, subject to international clearance.
The talented midfielder joins from Danish Superliga side FC Nordsjaelland for an undisclosed fee.
Yireknyi recently starred for Ghana, alongside Brandon Thomas-Asante, at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and scored the winning goal in their victory over Panama.
The 20 year-old has been capped 15 times already, by the Black Stars, after his impressive performances for his club.
After graduating from the Right to Dream academy, he moved over to Nordsjaelland in 2024 and made his senior debut for them in September that year at the age of 18.
He quickly established himself in the first team and in the 2025-26 season, Yirenkyi played 34 times as Nordsjaelland finished third and qualified for the UEFA Conference League.
His performances were also recognised at the end of the season as he was named Danish Superliga Young Player of the Year and was also named in the division’s 2025-26 Team of the Year.
He is excited for his new challenge in the Premier League with the Sky Blues.
On joining City, Yirenkyi said: “I’m excited to be at this club.
“I’ve heard so much about it and I really feel positive about being here.
“When I spoke to the Head Coach about the plans and the style, it’s something I really like, and I look forward to learning from him.
“I want to give my best to the team each and every day. I’m still young so I want to learn from the Head Coach, the other players and work really hard for the team.
“I’ve also heard a lot about the fans, they’re incredible and I can’t wait to play in front of them.”
