A second mural in the Warwickshire County Council “Blank Canvas” project has been completed at Pageant Garden in Warwick.

The artwork was designed by Stratford-based artist Ali Glover, working with pupils who attend tutoring sessions at Packmores Community Centre.

The “Blank Canvas” project is funded through the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund and delivered by Warwickshire County Council.

The project will see ten murals installed across the county, each created with a local artist and community group to reflect its surroundings and include a Warwickshire Bear.

The new Warwick design focuses on nature, with flowers and animals, and includes a scene of a bear reading on a swing.

The mural also features Warwick Castle in the background and is intended to reflect themes of learning, kindness, and colour inspired by the children’s drawings.

Ali Glover, who also leads Make Murals and Workshops CIC, said: "I'm really pleased to be involved in this project and particularly enjoyed translating the children's wonderfully creative ideas into the design.

"It was a pleasure to work in the Gardens, connecting with locals and visitors who shared their stories and experiences.

"Being able to talk to people about the work as it was being done made the project feel like a part of the community, and it's a fantastic testament to the children's creativity that their ideas resonated so well with the public."

Suzette Agard, from the Packmores Community Centre said: “The children of our Core Success afterschool club for 8–11-year-olds, were thrilled to be involved in the design of such a prominent mural.

"This workshop was a wonderful opportunity for them to nurture their creativity and explore their idea of community."
