Coventry’s popular Bands in the Park programme gets underway today, bringing free live music to the city’s green spaces throughout the summer.

The 2026 series opens at War Memorial Park with a performance from the Standard Triumph Pipe Band, marking the first of eight outdoor concerts scheduled between June and September.

Organised by Coventry City Council, the annual programme showcases a variety of talented bands from across the West Midlands, offering audiences a chance to enjoy a wide range of musical styles in a relaxed outdoor setting.

The free concerts will take place on selected Sundays throughout the summer, running from 2pm until 3.30pm. The events are designed to provide an enjoyable afternoon of entertainment for families, friends and music lovers of all ages.

Cabinet Member for Events, Councillor John McNicholas, said: “Bands in the Park is a brilliant way to bring our communities together to enjoy the outdoors and fantastic music in some of Coventry’s beautiful green spaces.

“We’re delighted to welcome back this much-loved programme and look forward to seeing residents and visitors enjoying the performances this summer.”
