Coventry police teams have made significant progress in curbing drug-related activities in the city centre, with recent arrests and seizures marking their efforts.

On 1st October, the St Michael's Neighbourhood team apprehended a 19-year-old man in the Spon End area.

He was found with more than 40 wraps of suspected Class A drugs.

Following his arrest, he has been charged with possession with the intent to supply and is set to appear before magistrates in Coventry later today.

The Hillfields team also took decisive action yesterday, intercepting a vehicle exhibiting suspicious behaviour on Stoney Stanton Road.

Inside the vehicle, officers discovered a stash of suspected Class A drugs alongside cash, which they suspect is connected to drug dealing activities.

A man in his 30s was detained on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and is currently being held in custody while investigations continue.

Coventry police emphasise the importance of proactive patrols and operations.

These activities not only generate crucial information for building cases against suspects but also help safeguard individuals who are vulnerable to exploitation by criminal organisations.

The community's role in these efforts is crucial.

Police urge those who are aware of or concerned about crime and anti-social behaviour in their neighbourhoods to report these issues via the 101 service or directly through the police website.

Such reports from the public are instrumental in planning and executing law enforcement operations more promptly and effectively.
