April Stress Awareness Month: NHS Trust reaffirms commitment
Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull Talking Therapies has been actively engaging with local communities, organisations and staff throughout the month
The Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust say they're 'proud' to reaffirm their commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of the region's population.
It's as April marks Stress Awareness Month.
Throughout the month, the team has delivered a series of workshops and informational sessions designed to raise awareness about stress, its effects and practical tools to manage it.
Their Talking Therapies team took a trip to King Edward VI College in Nuneaton, where students learned about recognising the signs of stress – especially during exam periods – and where to seek support.
The team also provided an informational session for officers at Warwickshire Police.
Alastair Penman, Director of Operations for Adult and Older People’s Mental Health Services at CWPT, said: “At CWPT, we recognise the increasing challenges people face when it comes to their mental wellbeing. Through national campaigns like Stress Awareness Month and the work of our Talking Therapies team, we’re ensuring that help is accessible, timely and tailored to the needs of our communities. It’s fantastic to see such strong collaboration between our services, local organisations and the public.”
Sheri Ashton, Head of Service for Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression, added: “Stress Awareness Month is an important reminder for us all to take time to check in on our mental health. Through our community outreach and workshops, we continue to provide people with the knowledge and confidence to manage stress and seek support when needed. It’s been inspiring to see so many people engaging with our services in April.”
Dan Whidden, Clinical Lead for Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull Talking Therapies, also commented: “Stress can affect anyone and it is vital that people know they do not have to face it alone. Our team is here to offer practical, evidence-based support to help individuals manage life’s pressures and improve their wellbeing. I’m proud of the work we’ve done this month and look forward to building on these community connections in the months ahead.”
Talking Therapies will be hosting a market stall at Warwickshire County Council’s Enablement and Prevention workshop on Wednesday (30 April 2025) to round off this month's events.
