Sinkhole causes hiccup for Warwickshire's Rural Crime Team

Team temporarily rebrands after sinkhole emerges in Leamington Spa

A rather large sinkhole on Regent Street in Leamington Spa has prompted the Warwickshire Rural Crime Team to humourously relabel themselves as the Warwickshire's Least Rural Crime Team.

The sinkhole's appearance in such an urban setting has led the team to re-evaluate certain aspects of their operations, highlighting the location's lack of rural characteristics.

Despite local rumours suggesting the sinkhole swallowed the author of a previous team post, the person concerned has been located and confirmed safe.

While the road remains closed, the team is addressing training needs and focusing on identifying non-native plant species accurately.

The team assures that normal operations, including dealing with rural issues like tractors, livestock, and suspicious activities, will resume promptly.

The sinkhole has been a reminder for the team that not every hole in Warwickshire is part of the rural landscape.
