Trial begins to reduce congestion in Cornwall town
The six month trial will impact drivers travelling through Saltash
A trial has got underway to reduce congestion on a busy Cornwall junction.
Cornwall Council has said that, for the next six months, traffic will be unable to turn right on Gilston Road, at the junction of the B3271 / Callington Road.
It’s after concerns were raised about congestion and safety from the local community in Saltash.
It means that traffic will be directed onto the Pilmere roundabout, with temporary signage introduced to inform drivers of the changes.
Monitoring will take place throughout the six-month trial to assess the impact of traffic movements in the area,” said a Council spokesperson.
The level of community support will also be measured before any changes are made on a permanent basis.
