The Eden Project launched new UK-wide mental health initiative
The Eden Project has launched a new UK-wide programme to help tackle climate change and support mental health.
The Nature Connection and Recovery initiative will support communities most affected by climate change and health inequality, including Cornwall.
It is being launched as the Eden Project prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
The programme aims to help people connect more with nature to boost wellbeing, while also encouraging climate-positive action through activities such as nature recovery, food growing and creative projects.
Research shows spending just two hours a week in nature can improve wellbeing. That is around 17 minutes a day, and the Eden Project says it will share simple tips in early 2026 to help people fit this into everyday life.

Sam Alford, Head of Nature Connections at the Eden Project, said the programme will show how nature can help tackle the climate emergency while also supporting physical and mental health. He added that by the end of the three years, communities across the UK will have helped restore natural spaces close to home.
The project has received over £2 million in funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, thanks to National Lottery players.
Work will begin in the New Year in St Austell, with other UK locations to follow.
