Bosses at South West Water are apologising to residents on one of the smallest inhabited islands of the Isles of Scilly after supplies were impacted because of a faulty pipe.

We're told engineers have been working 'through the night' on Bryher to sort the disruption, with the firm setting-up a bottled water station on the quayside earlier this week as a temporary measure.

It's now been confirmed supplies are returning this lunchtime (17 July).

'We are sorry for any inconvenience caused'

A spokesperson from Pennon, who own South West Water, told us: "We would like to thank the community on Bryher for their patience and understanding whilst we carried out repairs to a faulty pipe.

"We have been working through the night and hope to get water supplies back to normal by lunchtime today, although there may be some disruption while the system is recharging.

"We are sorry for the inconvenience caused."
