Winter Wonderland in Redruth was forced to remain closed today (December 9) after "thousands of pounds" worth of damage was caused by Strom Bram.

Organisers said "significant damage" had been caused by the Storm overnight, leaving the attraction with "unforeseen challenges."

They added the situation was "incredibly heartbreaking" for the team who have "invested so much love, effort, and resources into creating a magical experience" for visitors.

In a statement on social media a spokesperson for Winter Wonderland said: "Our dedicated team has been tirelessly battling the elements to ensure the safety of our visitors, but unfortunately, the storm has left us with unforeseen challenges.

"This situation is incredibly heartbreaking for all of us, as we’ve invested so much love, effort, and resources into creating a magical experience for you and your families.

"The damages incurred amount to thousands of pounds, but our priority remains the well-being and safety of everyone who visits us.

"We understand how important your plans are, and we want to reassure you that any tickets purchased for today can be swapped for any day that we are open."

Organisers added that they would provide an update later about their plans for reopening the attraction and thanked people for their "patience and understanding during this difficult time."
