An investigation is underway after a potential cybersecurity issue at a secondary school in Truro.

Richard Lander says it's affecting IT systems, but that there's currently no evidence that personal data has been compromised.

It adds that it means the school has very limited access to the data which it holds - as a result, it's closed today and tomorrow.

In a statement, bosses at Richard Lander School on Friday said: "We have been made aware of a potential cybersecurity issue affecting IT systems at Richard Lander School.

"An investigation is ongoing but there is currently no evidence that personal data has been compromised.

"The Council is working closely with the school to ensure that we have the right support and expertise available to properly assess the situation. No further information is available at this time.

"Currently the cyber incident means the school has very limited access to the data which it holds. As a result this could affect the ability of the school to function and to offer appropriate safeguarding to students. Therefore having taken advice from the local authority, the school will be closed to all students on Monday 30th June and Tuesday 1st July.

"The school will update parents on Tuesday, on social media and the school website, regarding plans for the rest of the week.

"We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause."
