Penzance fills with colour as rainbow flag carried through town
“We were the first town in the country to be Plastic Free. I also want this town to be Hate Free"
The streets of Penzance have been filled with colour this weekend - as a huge rainbow flag was carried through the town and onto the promenade to kick off Penzance Pride.
At the front of the procession, Mayor of Penzance Stephen Reynolds opened the afternoon of entertainment on Penzance promenade.
He said: “We were the first town in the country to be Plastic Free. I also want this town to be Hate Free.
"I wish you a brilliant day today at Penzance Pride and long may it continue to be a fixture in our community. Be who you want to be and enjoy the day.
"Meur Ras!”
'What an incredible day!'
The team at Penzance Pride said yesterday (1 June): "What an incredible day yesterday at Penzance Pride!
"A huge thank you to everyone who came along — whether you marched, danced, cheered from the sidelines, or just soaked in the atmosphere.
