We've had an update about a beaver that was found dead on a Cornish beach.

A pathology report has revealed that she had a swollen stomach filled with large amounts of fluid.

We're told she may have come too far down the Camel River and Estuary - and likely wasn't able to survive outside of her habitat.

The animal's pathology report said: "This was a juvenile female in poor body condition with her stomach and gut distended with large quantities of fluid.

"It looks like an out of habitat failure to thrive and salt water intoxication."

The Polzeath Beach Ranger Service said: "We're guessing she came too far down the Camel River and Estuary, not knowing a pushing tide will quickly salinate the water some distance past Wadebridge.

"It would still be good to know where she came from.

"If you come across a stranding on the coast, for a live stranding call British Divers Marine Life Rescue on 01825765546.

"For dead strandings in Cornwall, please call Cornwall Wildlife Trust 0345 201 2626."
