A documentary about a Cornish aid worker killed in Ukraine has been nominated for a Bafta Television Award.
It’s after it recently won an award in the Single Documentary category at the Royal Television Society Awards.
Chris Parry had been living in Cheltenham when he set off to provide overseas aid.
‘Hell Jumper’ follows the bravery of Chris Parry and includes footage taken by Chris as he evacuated people from their homes to help them flee from war.
The film hopes to show the power of young people, social media, bravery and a drive to help out people in need.
His father Rob Parry told Greatest Hits Radio about why he chose to go to Ukraine: “He just felt the need to go out there and help the poor people, the vulnerable people, the old and the young.
“He just felt a strong calling to go and do this.”
His mother Christine added “It’s a very human documentary as well because it does also, its not all doom and gloom.
“It shows his humour it shows the love story between him and Ola as well, so it’s uplifting in places.
“It isn’t all about the devastation and the awfulness of what’s going on in Ukraine.”
