Fire breaks out at derelict Narrowcliff hotel in Newquay

Firefighters in Cornwall are continuing to deal with a large fire that has broken out at a derelict hotel in Newquay.

Emergency services were alerted to an incident taking place at the Narrowcliff hotel in Newquay at around 3:20am on Sunday morning (October 12th).

A number of fire engines from stations across the county are working together to bring the blaze under control.

In total, engines from Newquay, Perranporth, St Dennis, Tolvaddon, Helston, Truro and Mevagissey, are dealing with the fire that broke out.

Throughout the morning, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service have provided updates on the status of the fire, adding that "good progress" had been made on bringing the fire under control at about 6:25am.

Road closures have since been brought in to keep the public away from danger whilst the fire continues to burn.
