The town is one of 11 locations across the UK recommended for a new hub by LINK, the UK’s Cash Access and ATM network.

The initiative is part of a wider effort to maintain access to essential banking services in areas where branches have shut down.

Banking hubs are shared spaces that operate much like traditional bank branches but are open to customers from all major UK banks.

Staffed by the Post Office, the Camborne hub will offer key services including:

  • Cash withdrawals and deposits
  • Bill payments
  • Private consultation rooms for meetings with bank representatives (on a rotating schedule)
  • Everyday banking transactions

Chris Ashton, Chief Commercial Officer at LINK, said:

“While more people are switching to digital banking and payments, we know that many people still rely on and choose to use cash. That’s why we’re delighted to recommend Camborne as one of 11 new hubs today.”

Supporting Communities Hit by Closures

Camborne’s hub will be delivered by Cash Access UK and is expected to open before the affected branch shuts its doors next year. It marks the 11th banking hub recommended in Cornwall, highlighting growing concern about the loss of banking services in rural and coastal communities.

The announcement comes amid a national push to protect access to cash, particularly for older residents, small business owners, and those without reliable digital connectivity.
