Proposals for housing developments totalling up to 248 homes have been submitted to Cornwall Council. These applications represent a mix of affordable and market homes across several different sites in Cornwall, each with unique characteristics and specific plans.

The first proposal, submitted by Vistry Cornwall South West, aims to develop 86 homes with related infrastructure and open space on former Duchy College land in Camborne. The application currently seeks a pre-application ultimate planning performance agreement.

Another development, proposed by Obsidian Strategic Asset Management Limited, involves building up to 75 homes on land west of Park Kres, St Agnes. A portion of this development, approximately 30 per cent, is earmarked as affordable housing. This proposal falls within the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site and promises to integrate contemporary sustainable homes into the existing village character.

Gilbert & Goode, part of the Ocean Housing Group, have their sights set on constructing 45 properties near St Minver Cricket Ground, near Wadebridge. This site, occupying around two hectares, would feature a mix of houses, bungalows, and flats with sustainable urban drainage measures and public open spaces.

Lastly, ALMA SW Ltd plans to build 28 properties on land south of Windmill Hill, Grampound Road. This development would include a mix of two-storey houses and bungalows, and eight of the homes are planned to be affordable.

All these applications are available for public viewing and comment on Cornwall Council’s planning portal, allowing community members to express support or objections.
