Murder investigation launched after man found dead in Truro
A 23-year-old man from Truro has been arrested on suspicion of murder
A murder investigation has been launched in Truro following the death of a man.
Police were called to an address in the Polruan Road area at around 7.20am on Wednesday, 29th October, after receiving a report of concern for the welfare of a man.
Emergency services attended, but a 23-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
A 23-year-old man from Truro has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
A warrant of further detention has been granted, allowing police to keep him in custody for another 36 hours.
Police confirmed that the deceased and the arrested man are believed to have been known to each other.
Detective Superintendent Rachael Bentley said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding this case.
“A cordon is currently in place as a thorough examination of the scene continues and cordons are expected to remain in place for some days.
“It is believed that the two men were known to each other."
“Members of the public can expect to see a heightened police presence in the area as enquiries are ongoing.
“If anyone has any concerns, I encourage them to approach and speak to our officers.”
She added that the incident is being treated as isolated, and police are not seeking anyone else in connection with the death at this time.
