Trains were cancelled and multiple appliances were called out yesterday in Cornwall after a large fire broke out.

We're told it's after emergency service crews received 'multiple 999 calls' to a blaze which involved a combine harvester.

This then spread into some adjacent fields.

In a statement, officers said: "Appliances from Liskeard, Lostwithiel, Callington and Bodmin are currently in attendance, along with Water Carriers from Liskeard and Wadebridge.

"A Station Manager and Group Manager are also in attendance.

"Due to the proximity of the fire to the railway, the Cornish Mail Line has been closed and all trains stopped in both directions.

"This is necessary for the safety of the the travelling public and railway staff.

"A Rail Incident Officer from Network Rail is currently in attendance liaising with the fire service and the line will be re-opened as soon as it is safe to do so.
