Man dies and six injured after carbon monoxide poisoning in Cornwall

A man has died and six people were injured following a carbon monoxide poisoning in Cornwall.

Emergency services were called at around 7.30pm on Saturday (23 August) to concerns for the welfare of three people at an address in Creakavose Park, St Stephen.

A man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Six people, including four ambulance staff, were treated for the suspected effects of carbon monoxide poisoning.

One fire appliance from Newquay Community Fire Station attended- firefighters wearing a breathing apparatus entered the address and made the scene safe.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious and that it was undertaking inquiries to complete a file for the coroner.
