Man charged after £70K worth of drugs found in Camborne
A misuse of drugs act warrant was used to search a property in Camborne yesterday
A teenager has been charged after around £70,000 worth of drugs including cocaine and ketamine were seized by police in Cornwall.
Devon and Cornwall Police says officers from Camborne Neighbourhood Team and other departments conducted a misuse of drugs act warrant in Camborne on Wednesday 5 November,
Leo Hook, 19, of Vyvyan Street, Camborne, was charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine and ketamine, and money laundering following the search yesterday.
Devon and Cornwall Police said: "This warrant was as a result of community information. Getting a warrant is not a quick process and needs to be applied for through a Magistrates Court, when there is enough intelligence from usually more than one source. This is why sometimes, it feels like we do not act immediately (or at all) when it is believed there is drug dealing happening from addresses.
"We hope that this outcome shows that we are proactively disrupting drugs networks and utilising the information that is passed to us to make our neighbourhoods safer."
