An investigation will be carried out into the cause of a fire at a disused hotel in Newquay.
The blaze broke out at the old Narrowcliffe Hotel yesterday afternoon.
Teams were dampening down hotspots at around quarter to nine last night.
In their original callout, at 16:18, crews said: "CFRS are currently in attendance at a large residential fire on Narrowcliff, Newquay.
"There is a large smoke plume and we are therefore requesting that people in the near vicinity keep windows and doors closed.
"Crews will be on scene for a prolonged period of time and request that people stay away from the area.
"Thank you for your co-operation."
And in an update at 20:45, they said: "Breathing apparatus has now been withdrawn from this incident and an Aerial ladder platform continues to damp down remaining hot spots.
"The incident is being scaled back with appliances preparing to leave the scene in the next 60 minutes.
"A fire investigation is to be carried out on Wednesday 23rd July to establish the cause of the fire."
