Fire service tackle agricultural fire near Saltash

A large fire took place in a building at Blunts housing agricultural machinery.

The fire service was called out to a large fire near Saltash earlier this morning.

A call was received at around twenty past three about a fire at an agricultural building at Blunts which contained several tractors and a combine harvester.

Upon arrival, crews assessed the size of the fire and called for back-up. Two additional fire engines were sent from Saltash and Liskeard.

Crews from Saltash, Callington and Liskeard dealt tackled the blaze. They used two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to prevent the fire from spreading.

By around twenty past five, good progress had been made on extinguishing the fire and the incident was scaled down to two appliances.
