People across Cornwall are being advised to prepare for further potential flooding, as heavy rain is expected until 2pm.

A yellow weather alert is in place from midnight on Wednesday 3 September.

The Met Office warn downpours may cause travel disruption and flooding in places.

It follows flooding across Cornwall overnight on Thursday 28 August, across areas including Looe and Mevagissey, where businesses had to close for the clean-up efforts.

Footage showed floodwater pouring into pubs and shops and damaging flooring:

There's warnings of further surface flooding, flooding of a few homes and businesses possible, interruption to power supplies and other services and spray and flooding on roads.

People are being urged to plan journeys ahead of time, with potential for bus and train services to be affected.

Some places could see 40-60 mm of rainfall within a period of 6-9 hours, and coastal gales are likely around the coastline.
