Firefighters tackle large barn fire

The latest update says good progress has been made, with just one engine and a water carrier still at the scene

Firefighters have been tackling a large barn fire near St Teath, with crews called in from Wadebridge, Bodmin and Padstow.

Extra water carriers from Wadebridge and Liskeard have been brought in to help earlier yesterday afternoon (10/11), as teams used hose reel and main jets to try and put out the flames.

The latest update says good progress has been made, with just one engine and a water carrier still at the scene this morning.

Sharing information about the incident, Padstow Community Fire Station said: "Shout 15:47.

"St Teath - Firefighters from Padstow were called to a barn fire near St Teath.

"An L4P crew were tasked with mobilising the water carrier from Wadebridge Community Fire Station while our major responded directly to the incident."

In their update, Cornwall Fire and Rescue said the scene has been scaled down after 'good progress' was made yesterday afternoon.

They confirmed: "Pumping appliances from Wadebridge, Bodmin, and Padstow, along with water carriers from Wadebridge and Liskeard, are responding to a barn fire.

"Update at 17:40 HRS - Good progress is being made. Firefighters are using hose reel jets and main jets to extinguish the fire.

"Update at 05:45 11/11/25. Good progress being made. 1 appliance and 1 Water Carrier remaining on scene."
