Falmouth Community Fire Station has announced that it will no longer organise the hugely popular annual fireworks display at Falmouth Cricket Club.

This decision marks an end to nearly 40 years of the event being a staple in the local calendar, raising cash for local charities and community causes.

The fire station attributed the decision to changes in the regulatory and legislative landscape regarding large-scale public events. These changes, while essential for public safety, have increased the complexity and operational requirements of running such events.

The crews believe that future events should be managed by professional organisers with the necessary expertise and resources to fully address these demands.

Falmouth Fire Station expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated and supported the event over the years.

They expressed hope that an alternative arrangement can be found to allow the tradition to continue with their full support.
