Fire crews called to suspected arson in Newlyn

Fire crews have been called to a suspected arson in the early hours of this morning.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue say police have been told about the incidents, and investigations are continuing.

In an update, crews said: "Several calls were taken by Fire Control in the early hours of this morning reporting an area of hedgerow and shrubbery alight in the gardens at Newlyn.

"A crew from Penzance attended and extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel.

"Police have been notified that arson is suspected."
