An explosion has reportedly occurred at a homeless pod in Penryn early this morning (09/07).
Residents in the area reported hearing a loud bang at 4am, and authorities have since taped off the site.
According to Cornwall Fire and Rescue, their crews responded to the incident with two appliances from Falmouth.
“Two appliances from Falmouth responded to this incident, along with a wholetime officer," Cornwall Fire and Rescue said.
"On arrival crews confirmed a small temporary housing unit was well alight. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus sets used a hose reel jet and a safety jet to extinguish the fire.
"Police and Ambulance were also in attendance.
"Crews monitored hotspots and damped down before returning to home station.”
