The family of “a good-hearted kid” pay tribute following fatal collision near Newquay

The family of a 22-year-old who lost his life following a road traffic collision near Newquay have paid an emotional tribute to him.

Devon & Cornwall Police were called at around 12.25am on Sunday (24 August) following a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision that had occurred on the A3059 near to Newquay, which involved a white 110cc moped and a red single decker bus.

Tragically, as a result of the collision, moped rider Corey Searle, from Newquay, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 33-year-old driver of the bus from the St Austell area was uninjured.

Corey’s family has now paid tribute to him.

They said: “Corey Searle was our 22-year-old son, nephew, brother and best friend.

“He was funny and enthusiastic about anything and everything. He was a good-hearted kid, who was generous with his time and would help anyone."
