The annual Falmouth Week fireworks display has been cancelled this year.

The event had been planned for this Friday (14 August 2026).

Falmouth Week organisers said online: "After weeks of dry weather that has left the ground tinder dry, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the annual Falmouth Week fireworks display planned for Friday 14 August.

"We've worked closely with partners including Celebration Pyrotechnics, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, Falmouth Harbour, Balaena and landowners to explore every possible option. However, after careful assessment, and with another heatwave on the way, no option could be found that met the necessary safety requirements."

"The rest of Friday's entertainment goes ahead as planned, and Falmouth Week continues right through to Sunday 16 August."
