The death of a 40-year-old man in Truro remains unexplained after a man arrested in connection with the case was released without charge.

Detectives discovered the body in Moorfield Car Park, Calenick Street, at around 10.45am on Monday, 17th August.

His family is receiving support from specialist officers.

A 44-year-old local man was arrested on Tuesday, 18th August, on suspicion of multiple offences, including assault grievous bodily harm, administering a noxious substance, and theft.

However, following further investigations, he was released from custody the following day, and he is no longer linked to the case.

Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, with extensive enquiries underway.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage to trace the man's movements before his death.

The previously established cordon and closure at the car park have been removed after completing forensic examinations and searches.

Detective Inspector Jon Bray, who is leading the investigation, stated that the investigation is ongoing:

“The man arrested as part of our investigation has today been released without charge and is no longer connected to our enquiries."

Bray emphasises the importance of public assistance:

“We continue to appeal for information from anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area between the afternoon of Friday 14th August and 10.45am on Monday 17th August."
