Police Seek Witness After Suspected Drink Driving Incident Near Kelly Bray

Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for a potential witness to come forward following a suspected drink driving incident on the A388 near Kelly Bray.

Officers responded to reports of a van driving erratically on the southbound carriageway between Penpill and Kelly Bray at around 5.10pm on Thursday 10 July.

A man in his 40s from the Callington area was arrested on suspicion of drink driving. He has since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

A man believed to have witnessed the incident called police at the time, but due to poor signal in the area, the emergency call system was unable to capture his phone number. Officers are now keen to speak with him, as he may have vital information that could help the investigation.

The individual is thought to be a former police officer, although no further details, such as his name or whether he is local, are currently known.

Police are urging the man, or anyone who may know who he is, to come forward. They also ask that no names be shared publicly or online.
