A Cornwall man has been jailed after being caught riding an illegal e-scooter while banned from driving.
Cambridgeshire Police were on patrol in St Neots in Huntingdonshire on 6 March when they spotted Ross Saunders riding the e-scooter on a pavement in Barford Road.
Saunders, 32, of Polmear Hill, Cornwall, was disqualified from driving for two years following a court hearing in November 2023.
At Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (1st November 2025), Saunders was sentenced to six weeks in prison after pleading guilty to driving while disqualified and failing to surrender to police. He was also disqualified from driving for two years and five months.
PC Harvey Noble, from the Huntingdon neighbourhood team, said: “Driving bans are put in place for a reason – to keep people safe. Saunders chose to ignore the law and now faces the consequences, including a prison sentence.”
