Car reverses into shop front in Camborne

A structural assessment of the building's underway

A car has been reversed into the front of a shop in Camborne town centre.

The Seat vehicle has collided with the empty M&Co store on Trelowarren Street at around 11.30am today (Friday 25th April).

It's believed an elderly couple were in the car at the time.

The road itself is closed for the time being, while a structural assessment of the building is underway.

In a statement, Devon and Cornwall Police said:

"Police were called at 11.30am to Trelowarren Street, Camborne, following a report of a car in collision with a building.

"The driver has been checked by ambulance crews at the scene and is believed to have sustained minor injuries.

"The road will remain closed until a structural engineer has attended to assess the safety of the building."
