Police given more time to question Plymouth acid attack suspect

Detectives investigating an acid attack in Plymouth have been granted a warrant of further detention to detain a suspect in custody

The further detention warrant was granted by Devon Magistrates' Court, and it allows police to detain the suspect for a further 24 hours.

Officers are continuing to investigate the serious assault which happened on Friday 21 February.

Police were called to a property on Lipson Road at around 3.55am following reports of a disturbance at the address.

The victim, a man in his 30s, remains in a serious condition in hospital.

A 25-year-old man from London has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is in police custody while enquiries are ongoing.
