Part of the A30 in Cornwall is closed as police deal with a "serious" incident.

The road is shut eastbound between the A3047 near Tolvaddon and the A3047 near Redruth - New Portreath Road is also closed.

Devon and Cornwall Police say there is "no risk to public safety" and they will provide further updates as soon as they are able to.

The Force is asking motorists to avoid the area as enquiries are ongoing. Diversions are in place.
