Teens still being questioned on suspicion of murder after Peterborough stabbing

A 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man continue to be questioned over the stabbing death of another teenager in Peterborough.

The pair are in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station on suspicion of the murder of the 16 year old on Sunday evening (12 April).

Detectives are seeking a custody time limit extension from magistrates to further the investigation into the attack at the Orton Centre.

A 16-year-old girl from March has been charged with possessing a knife/bladed weapon in a public place.

She was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender but has since been released on conditional bail.

She is scheduled to appear at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court on 13th May.

A 17-year-old girl from Peterborough, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released on conditional bail until 8th July.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place tomorrow, 15th April, at Peterborough City Hospital, which could provide further insights into the incident.

Although the cordon has been removed, police officers continue to be present in the area as inquiries are conducted.
