Two men have been sentenced for operating a county drugs line between Cambridge and London.
Officers arrested Jayden Wilmott and Ryan Kouame in Regent Terrace, Cambridge, on 19 March as part of Operation Hypernova – a crackdown on county lines drug dealing across Cambridgeshire, a third man, Ruben Howard was also arrrested on drugs offences.
The trio were driving around in a white Ford Focus with driver Howard found with cannabis and £100 in cash.
Rear passenger Kouame had 21 wraps of heroin, £415 in cash and a knife and front passenger Wilmott had 75 wraps of heroin concealed in his underwear and £500 in cash.
At Peterborough Crown Court yesterday (9 December), Wilmott, 20, of South Park Road, Ilford, London, was sentenced to four years and one month in a Young Offender Institution after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply heroin and acquiring criminal property.
Kouame, 20, of Breakspears Road, Brockley, London, was sentenced to two years and eight months in a Young Offender Institution after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply heroin, acquiring criminal property and possession of a bladed article.
Howard, 24, of Wadloes Road, Cambridge, was given a community order and required to carry out 150 hours unpaid work after pleading guilty to possession of cannabis and being concerned in the supply of cannabis.
Detective Constable Luke Currie, who investigated, said: “Wilmott and Kouame were exploiting vulnerable people and bringing harmful substances into our communities. We will continue to target those involved and disrupt their criminal activity.”
